Saw this over at eHow and thought it’s a good tips for those Mommies who have toddlers running around the house;)
1. The first thing in potty training is looking for readiness. They may be the smartest child on the planet but that doesn’t make them ready to start using the potty. The signals for readiness are verbally saying when they have to go or saying “pee pee” or “poo poo”, pointing to their diaper, taking their diaper off when they have gone, having dry diapers through the night or several hours during the day. Those are just some of the signs. They may show some or even just one or two before they are ready.
2. Next I warn them a few days in advance that we will be using the potty and I talk it up alot so they have some time to get used to it. Try to plan it for a time that you’ll be home for a few days without having to go out for any length of time this is really vital the first few days. I used to warn other people ahead of time too that I was going to be really busy potty training and that way I wasn’t getting a ton of phone calls or people needing me to do things for them.
3. I like to use the naked method and it has worked all 5 times with my kids so I’ve stuck with it they seem to grasp it faster when they see whats happening when they have an accident (and they will have accidents). I let them go without pants on for 2 out of the 3 days and by the third day I start putting regular underwear on them. I leave the potty chair in a place that they are going to be playing and have instant access to it. By the third day with this I have moved it into the bathroom. I also use the reward method and I would give them a few M&Ms every time they would go for the first few days and then let that taper off. Just make sure you make a big deal out of it and give them lots of praise each time.
4. Now this is not a new concept by any means but I know for sure that it does work if you put the time and effort and have patience with it they will do it if they are ready. I have found too that making sure there are little distractions while training is also really important. I tried to potty train my last little guy when he turned 2 just like my other 4 but he just wasn’t ready and he had the distraction of his 4 year old sister. Well as soon as she went to kindergarten I vowed to have him potty trained and boom he did it and it literally only took 3 days.
I have been reading at a few articles about losing weight and gym stuff. And I saw this best diet pills online. It looks very interesting. But I’m not sure if I really needed one now because I lost weight due to all the things I do plus I had been sick.I know I need to be strong though for the kids. But in case you are reading this and is thinking of doing diet pills, check those reviews it might be the one you are looking for!
And I am back here! It has been a few weeks since my last update and life has been the busiest! Raising 2 kids, helping my in-laws with health problems plus running a house plus add to that, that I have been very sick these pas weeks. I am still sick actually because I am down with flu again but thought I’d check this elliptical stuff and say hi in here as well! Hope all are well in your side of the world!
Only 3 months time and my lil boy will be 2 years old! Time flies really..I haven’t able to post photos of him for the longest time as well..But will do that when I have enough time..For now, here’s what BBcenter said about 21 months old toddler!
Your 21-month-old
What’s your toddler doing?
Your 21-month-old is probably interested in rearranging furniture, assisting with chores, and using her own play shelves, table, and chairs. She might also be able to put on her clothing, wash and dry her hands, or brush her teeth with help.
She’s also getting closer to tackling the toilet. Sometime after her 18th month but before her second birthday, your toddler will be able to recognize when she is going to urinate or have a bowel movement. You’ll also notice signs that your child is about to eliminate — she might crouch down or move away. Even after she realizes what’s happening, she isn’t necessarily ready to use her potty, but she’s getting closer to it.
How is your life changing?
Toddlers at this age like things “just so.” Along with tantrums and exploration, obstinacy is another hallmark of toddlerhood. Respect her preferences and interests and try to give in on the little things, like which jelly to use on toast or which shirt to wear. Make it clear that some things — like behaviors that affect safety — are not up for negotiation.
Try establishing — and sticking to — set times for napping, eating, and going to bed to help her feel more secure and in control. Routines can also make your life easier. If your child knows what to expect every day, you’ll probably encounter less resistance. A regular way of doing things can also keep you from having to take time to plan each day separately.
Aside from the rugs that I have been eying online, I’m also looking for some candle sconces that I can use during the dinner party. I’m still not sure if we are throwing a party. Probably a small dinner because of my bro’s birthday celebration.A few friends and then relatives are coming over so, prolly a dinner will be just fine. Then if my bro would like to have some fun they can surely do it outside. I was thinking of renting a band that we can set up in the front yard. But it wouldn’t be nice because of the current situation with my in-laws. Although, my house is a bit far from where they live. We’ll see how all this plans goes..Check out this simple table set-up..nice and clean!
I was actually looking for some discount rugs because we are having some company next weekend. I haven’t had a chance to drop by at the mall due to the busy schedules. I might as well check designs online and see if I can find one around here that I like. I really like the ones at this site that I came across though..We’ll see..But check out this photo! I like white houses..really comfy and relaxing for the eyes..But then again, I have kids in the house and it won’t be a happy place because they will surely write something in the wall! haha
Enjoy your weekend! It’s a long weekend again this weekend because tomorrow is Holiday! Yay!
Haven’t been able to go back to gym for a week now due to my in-laws health problems that I was the watcher for 4 consecutive days! I’m not complaining but was really hard. That’s why I haven’t able to write any updates. I was even thinking I don’t need this best weight loss product because I lost weight even without going to the gym. Must be the pressure and all.But if I will go back to my weight again, I think I really need one..We’ll see..
