My peanut has already 10 teeth at 15 months as I write this and the many others that are coming out! Not sure why he got that many at early at 1 year but his dentist said it’s normal. Since I toothbrush him every twice a day now or even thrice but I actually forget sometimes..lol So, it’s mostly twice-1 after breakfast and 1 after dinner..Here’s some info about teething babies that I found in eHow..thought it’s a good info for you Mom’s with babies!
Significance
Teething is considered by some to be a gateway between the newborn period and later infancy, when babies can use their new teeth to explore new textures and flavors. Because teething is so critical to normal development, babies who are very late in teething may be behind other children in many areas, including fine motor control and oral abilities. This is because teething encourages babies to explore their environment in new ways, and motivates them to use their hands and fingers to bring objects and food to their mouths.
Identification
The signs and symptoms of teething vary from one child to another, but typically teething babies experience irritability, drooling, coughing, ear pulling and trouble sleeping. A chin rash may also be present. And, teething babies tend to bite and chew on everything around them. The gums inside the mouth may be red and swollen, and some teething babies may develop cold-like symptoms, such as a runny nose or sneezing. Because the symptoms of teething may differ considerably from child to child, even experienced parents may have trouble identifying the symptoms right away. Some teething babies may exhibit all the signs and symptoms of teething, while others may show none.
Time Frame
Most babies will begin teething at approximately the same age, and most teeth erupt in a fairly similar pattern. Some teething babies can vary considerably from this pattern, however, so there is no real way of knowing when a baby’s first tooth will erupt or how long and painful the process will be. Some teething babies may experience symptoms of teething for weeks before a tooth erupts, while others may wake one morning with a new tooth. Teething often follows hereditary patterns, which means a baby is likely to get teeth based on the teething habits of the parents. Typically, baby teeth arrive in pairs and follow a general timeline. The lower central incisors often arrive around the age of 6 months, followed by the upper central incisors around 8 months of age. A couple of months later, the lower and upper lateral incisors arrive. The first molars generally do not arrive until at least 14 months of age, with the canines following at about 18 months, and the second molars making an appearance near the second birthday.
Misconceptions
Teething babies do not normally experience diarrhea, body rashes, or fever, and a pediatrician should see any baby that exhibits these symptoms. Many parents insist that these symptoms are a normal part of teething, and this may be true for some babies. However, these symptoms can be indicative of an infection or serious medical condition and need to be checked out by a doctor. If your child has not gotten teeth by the age of 15 months, he or she will need to be seen by a dentist for evaluation. Although it is not abnormal for teeth to erupt early or late, an x-ray will be needed to determine the cause of significantly delayed teething.
Warning
Teething babies will chew and bite on everything within their reach, which makes them especially prone to choking and poisoning. Care should be taken to remove any potentially dangerous items, including plants, magnets and any items small enough to fit inside baby’s mouth. Hard foods, such as uncooked carrots, frozen bananas and hard bread should not be offered to a teething baby due to the risk of choking unless enclosed in a mesh teething container. Additionally, it is never okay to rub brandy or any other type of alcohol onto a teething baby’s gums. Even very small amounts of alcohol can be harmful. Numbing gels should be used sparingly, if at all, as they may make it difficult for a teething baby to swallow.
Prevention/Solution
The pain and discomfort of teething can be safely helped by a variety of home remedies. Massaging your teething baby’s gums will relieve discomfort while encouraging the new tooth to break through the gum. Frozen toys, washcloths and teething rings can reduce inflammation and provide pain relief. Cool fluids offered in a cup or bottle will ease discomfort and replace fluids lost due to excessive drooling. When these teething aids are not enough, teething tablets or OTC medications such as infant Tylenol may alleviate your teething baby’s pain long enough for both of you to get some sleep. Medications, even those sold over the counter, should only be used under the supervision of your baby’s pediatrician.
Happy Weekend!

Supposed to look for light fixtures but thought I’d do a little update with peanut first:)
He is really growing up so fast. This photo below was taken when we went out a week ago. He loves running around the house. And he loves his big brother the most. So when we have a chance to play in the park near our place, he would be running around and loves to play with the doves. Although, I don’t like him near them because some of those birds are just filty! haha
So far, he still drinks milk like every 4 hrs or even less. He eats mostly veggies with pork, beef and chicken. Of course I chopped them in small cubes. He loves any kind of food. haha I am really happy we doesn’t have any problem with his feeding time. He sleeps very early in the night like 8 to 9pm. Mom’s always the one letting him put to bed:) Then woke up early too around 6 to 7 in the morning! He’s very curious with everything around him that he would bite your toes if he sees them without you knowing! hehe He weighs 13kg now. He’s really growing. And a he has this teeny talks about something if he want you with him. When I asked him to count he would show his fingers and babble baby talks. He would fly you a kiss if you asked for a flying kiss!
And of course, he will probably grow up like his big brother that is so into computer. He’s totally a joy!

Here’s what Babycenter said about my little guy!
How your toddler’s growing: Your baby is growing up fast these days, walking, talking a little, and probably even using a spoon or fork when she eats. Every game she plays, whether it’s pointing to different body parts when you ask her to or putting objects into containers and taking them out again, teaches her about the world around her. One of the things she’s learning is that she’s an autonomous entity, not just an extension of you. How can you tell if your child has grasped this concept? Watch her in front of a mirror; if she recognizes herself and isn’t trying to reach out and touch the “other” baby, she gets it.
How your life is changing: The way your child interacts with the world around her will tell you a lot about her temperament — how she’s likely to respond to different situations, people, places, and things. For example, some children are flexible and adapt easily to change, others need a more predictable schedule. You can modify your child’s environment to help her succeed. She’s depending on you to make her feel comfortable. By respecting her needs, you can help her develop to her fullest potential.
Now off to do more searching!

+ It’s getting warmer these days and it’s Spring! Love it:) Spring would be nice!
2. Is it ‘spring’ where you live yet? If so, how can you tell? If not, when does spring usually occur?
+ Yup, tomorrow will be Spring Equinox!

My first time to join at this Meme and I’m a day late too!LOL Anyway, here’s my answers to this weeks questions..
This weeks question is:
What do you want to do with a little extra cash?
+ I’d pay off a few house bills. Buy new clothes/accessories/bags for spring and summer. Treat the whole family for a 5 days trip:) That would be nice, right?
What else do you want this week? Feel free to share it all.
+ Tons of things I want. But first thing first, I’d check pool supplies for the summer prep. And finish the booking online for the hotel:)

Saturday 9: School Daze
1. Do you have children in school?
+ Yes! A kindergarten that will be in first grade next opening:) Excited!
2. Did you go to public school? If you have children did/do they?
+ I went to a public and private schools. It’s a long story. It’s because of my Dad assigned for work from one place to another and we have to come along. But I turned out fine:) My eldest will be going to private school because the husband and I have already talked about it.
3. Are you currently in school or taking classes?
+ Oh no..hopefully, I can finish my Master’s somehow! But not soon..
4. What level of education have you completed?
+ College Graduate. With a few subjects on my Masters. Not done with it though.
5. Do you, or did you have loans out for your (or your children’s) education?
+ My parents never had loans for me. Or that’s what I was told.
I’m the eldest so, everything was most likely planned for my education. As for our kids, I hope we won’t have that..It’s early to tell. But the husband and I are doing everything for my boys! We are saving that everything will be great when it’s our time to pay huge tuition fees for them. Actually, we are paying huge amounts now even if my eldest is still in kindergarten! International Schools are quite expensive!
6. What are your thoughts on the cost of tuition for colleges and universities?
+ Expensive but I’m sure it’s worth it!
7. Did school prepare you education wise for working in the real world?
+ Not really. I don’t know what I was thinking. I was so lax in most times of my college. But no regrets!
8. Did school prepare you emotionally for what lied ahead?
+ Not really sure. But I remember our professors told us that it’s everything different in the real world!
9. If you ran a high school, what changes would you make?
+ Mostly on the teachings, education is really important but doesn’t mean you don’t know how to love and enjoy life;)
Happy Weekend!
